Taiwan
Former NBA player Kobe Bryant who ended his 20 year career with the Los Angeles Lakers last April, was in Taiwan on Monday to train young basketball players.
The High School basketballers were selected for the Kobe Academy basketball training camp aimed at improving skills.
“The biggest advice, like, I could tell you what to do. I think the most important thing is to teach you how you can figure out what to do for yourself, right? The way you do that is by study. You watch, you observe, you see what they do well. One guy’s big maybe slow, right? You have to look at their weaknesses and you have to understand what your strengths are, then how to use those against that person,” former NBA star, Kobe Bryant told the High School basketballers.
The young basketballers were happy to meet their role model. They took the lessons seriously and hope it gives them the confidence to pursue their dreams fearlessly.
“I am pretty happy to take part in this Kobe training camp, because I can meet him in person, and I hugged him just now, which was really precious. Today’s training helped a lot in step moves and my basketball career in the future,” 18-year-old High School student, Peng Hsiao-Tung said.
Kobe Bryant has cemented his name among NBA greats in a career that includes scoring titles, the third most points in league history and the most valuable player award in 2008.
